I agree. Looking from the outside, I've long considered that systemd will eventually become a vehicle for DRM, as it is positioning itself between the kernel (hardware) and all user activity. It will be weak and full of holes but that won't matter much because it becomes a legal matter at the moment it comes into being. It could be triple ROT13 and the anti-circumvention components of the EUCD and the DMCA still kick in to protect it. Devuan will become that much more important.
