I have personnaly nothing against neither Gtk+* nor Qt, as long as I don't need to write an appli using them. I'm a happy user of Gtk-based Xfce4 and Qt-based wpa-gui.

Steve expressed reluctance against Qt, for its footprint, I think. The issue with Gtk is that it is part of Gnome and Gnome is becoming more and more entangled with Systemd.

Regarding writing an appli, I can only tell it's easy with Xforms. I read day after day the efforts of Edward and Aitor with Gtk; but the result will certainly be more shiny than with Xforms.
