I'm just waiting for vdev-0.1 to get published. :D -Jim ________________________________ From: shraptor<mailto:shrap...@bahnhof.se> Sent: 8/12/2015 4:13 AM To: dng@lists.dyne.org<mailto:dng@lists.dyne.org> Subject: Re: [DNG] Congratulations to the Devuan team
Vdev is now in a functional state and I use it on my desktop everyday. vdev is now doing everything I used udev for. I however don't use it in initramfs where I use busybox mdev. More testers would probably be good for more use-cases so agreed now packaging would be desired. But as I said before vdev(libudev-compat) + spacefm auto-detection of plugged devices is working for me. I don't want automounting but I believe it would be easy to setup with udevil!? /Scooby On 2015-08-12 12:48, James Powell wrote: > We all know Devuan is going to create a huge ripple in the great big > pond, and join the ranks of the pro-choicers in regards to software > usage. > > While I'm following vdev closely, mostly to backport it to another > distribution, Devuan's success will bring success to other choice > giving distributions as well. > > It's a win-win situation finally. > > -Jim > > ------------------------- > From: tilt! > Sent: 8/12/2015 3:39 AM > To: dng@lists.dyne.org > Subject: [DNG] Congratulations to the Devuan team > > Hi, > > I would like to convey my respect and appreciation to all > participants, > acknowledging that Devuan GNU/Linux is in use here now as a > functional > Linux Desktop which I use for tasks of software development and > system > integration as well as for everyday mail, office and web stuff. > > Good work!
