Django People is very useful, but it isn't an 'official' Django resource. It's just something that a member of the Django community has contributed. If you have an idea for how to integrate with/improve upon Django People, speak to Simon Willison or Natalie Downe (details on the Django People website). This sort of thing isn't without precedent; Brian Rosner (the maintainer of the Django IRC bot) had a cool idea for how to use Django People data in the bot, so he spoke to Simon; Simon was enthused, and so he opened an API that would let the bot access that data. I'm sure if you came to Simon with a good proposal and some working code to show that you are serious, Simon would be open to suggestions. > I know from experience how difficult it is to co-ordinate this kind of > information manually, even with far smaller groups. We're all volunteers here. None of the core developers are paid to work on Django. I, for one, don't have enough spare time as it is, let alone taking on a full time job of tracking Django community activity. However, if someone in the community wants to step up and take on that role as their contribution to the community, they are more than welcome to do so. Build it and they will come. :-) Yours, Russ Magee %-) --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Django users" group.
