Are you using Django 1.0? URL naming patterns (http:// docs.djangoproject.com/en/dev/topics/http/urls/#id2) were not introduced until 1.0. From the looks of the exception, Django is trying to build the path to your view by appending the argument in the {% url %} tag to your app name.
python manage.py --version That will get you the current Django version you're running.
