This is almost definitely the wrong list to be writing comparisons, but as a long-time PHP user (and now a Django user), I have to say that PHP is not as bad or useless as Python apologists tend to make out. The fact is that the vast number of web hosts using it and ease of installation for home projects just means that the barrier to entry for PHP is lower, which means the community is more likely to be composed of a higher ratio of poor:good programmers. This is true of anything truly mainstream. PHP is fine for both large projects AND scaling (see Yahoo! for more information)--it's just how you use it that's important. Now back to your regularly scheduled programming.
