Hello all,

I'm a huge fan of Django. Let's face it, coding a Django site is just
plain fun. And I've only just scratched the surface of what it's
capable of. One of the things I've missed with Django is that I
doesn't seem to have much of a community past #django on
irc.freenode.net and sites such as djangocommunity.com (which is non-
existent pass the landing page) and djangopowered.org (cool site, but
not much to it). Therefore, I would like to propose a new site,
djangojunkies.net/.co.uk/.com, that does just this: a simple, elegant
Django site, that encapsulates a community-driven ethos and provides
services such as tips, forums and news all about Django. Somewhere to
hang out and have fun. Somewhere to get the word out about how cool
and fun Django can be!

Why am I posting this here? Well, I want to see if there's anyone here
that'd like to join me in creating such a site. I'm no web designer,
so I I'd need someone who knows paintbrush from their elbow, and is
proficient with web technologies such as Javascript, XHTML (1.1) and
perhaps even a bit of AJAJ (JSON, not XML!). I have a VPS that I can
host it on, and already own the domains (djangojunkie[s].net, com
and .co.uk).

What are your thoughts? Do you have complaints or suggestions? Even
just a 'yay' or 'nay' would do :)

If you'd like to participate, please email me at placid AT beplacid
DOT com and we'll see what we can muster up.

Thanks for reading,

Placid (beplacid.net)
