I've had a lot of success with Dreamhost, but some others haven't. I just followed Jeff Croft's guide, and it's worked perfectly. I've set up two seperate Dreamhost accounts with Django, both are working great. I've also heard nothing but good reviews about webfaction.com (formerly python-hosting.com), and they even natively support Django (whereas you have to "do it yourself" with Dreamhost).
