Hear, hear! (For non-native speakers, that means "I agree").

The Django-users list has always been distinguished by it's helpful,
friendly tone. Recently standards seem to have slipped a bit.

I know there has been a recent rash of extremely poorly-asked questions (see
discussions passim) that might have frayed people's patience, especially
among members who answer a lot of questions.

However, as my mother always said, if you haven't got something nice to say,
say nothing. Ignoring those questions, or gently pointing out off-list how
they can get better answers is much better than posting snarky responses. It
also takes less energy and time, and preserves your emotional health for
more rewarding interactions.

Please can we keep things civil and helpful here - I for one value that too
much to see it go without a fight.

Malcolm
