I agree with you on this. Seems a little foolish to attempt to reinvent the wheel when there are plenty of options about. I ended up ditching fiber pretty quickly due to lack of documentation and ended up choosing FeinCMS, which has been great, although lacking in some areas - either that or my knowledge/understanding of the docs is lacking to the point where I am coming to a grinding halt with the MPTT side of things.
