It's a great learning tool for a beginner and refresher tool for those already comfortable with the language. Once you work your way through Beginning Python, I'd still recommend picking up a copy of Python in a Nutshell (which is now in its second edition and which I need to pick up a copy of) as it delves into deeper detail than BP.
