+1 on the portability of apps. We're doing something very similar for
our client projects.

Since moving to Django we have:
  - increased our cash flow by being able to hammer out more
"small-ish" projects in a shorter amount time
  - decreased our dev time -- we're finding ourselves waiting on
clients more so than before
  - reduced server maintenance/security patches -- no more maintaining
multiple installs of Wordpress or Mambo etc... the time saved not
having to wrestle with multiple installs of apps (especially heavily
modified OS projects) is a dream come true.

Make the switch. After you get the hang of it you're life will be
*much* more enjoyable ;-)
