I read that as: D&I don't need permission to scan a project and
(potentially) report it as problematic, but projects do need
permission to stop the scan.
Not permission, but a notice, so we don't all wonder "where did that
repository suddenly go?". There have been multiple instance already of
people adding or removing repositories without any form of
communication, and we'd like to avoid more of that.
Sorry, but although I think it's a good initiative to try and reduce
non-inclusive language in ASF code and documentation, it has been
introduced in a way that is likely to be counter-productive.
It is pretty obvious to anyone who looks at any of the projects with a
high number of contentious words that false positives abound.
Did no-one think to check some of the outliers why they had such a
high hit-rate?
Very disappointed.
