Daniel: Briefly, I'm engrossed in documentation for C-Graph, but wanted to throw out a question.

I'm accordingly perplexed as to why such a vote against RMS was taken in the first place. 1. The call for RMS to resign from all leadership positions was the second highest tally of the 7 options; 2. The vote to abstain from a public statement on the matter was the winner; 3. Despite the latter, 117 Debianites signed the open letter against RMS in a personal capacity - including the current Debian Project Leader, former DPL's and senior members. 4. Options 5 and 6 supporting RMS and denouncing the witchhunt failed to achieve a majority. How does the Free Software Movement move forward in the face of such opposition? What can we do to re-establish confidence in our founder and leader? What is at the root of the campaign to destroy him? What does Debian want?
