It seems Google are going to start allowing auto play advertising, This raises a point on how do we counter the big players in the system. or how we use them. We could just say don't use google or we could highlight that this may start to happen, and then suggest alternatives. I have just created a blog post to highlight how annoying this is, using an example of having my own music choices drowned out by advertising. and made a suggesion at the end that people switch to duckduckgo as an example for search. So going back to the thread topic. if we had a presence on say twitter / facebook et al we could make a point on sharing articles such as this but also share a link to duckduckgo. That way people who read the article and think 'what choice do I have', get a possible answer at the same time. Just a thought.
