IF they are there.. indeed! I agree that a hands off management style is best - "here's a dead box, fix it". In a solaris sysadmin class I took years ago, while we were all at lunch, the instructor "broke" each of our Sun workstations, rendering them unbootable. To top it off, each system was broken in a different way. (In my case, the cause was a boot device string that she had added a trailing space after--- rendering the boot record/device incorrect. Pretty funny.. ) (Adding to the story....
