As much as I like Cory Doctorow, you should instead read the Ars Technica
version (

where they actually tried to do a little bit of journalism.  They point out
that it could've been that the kid took a picture of himself doing something
"bad" using the built-in webcam, and school officials may have just seen the
picture.  This is a far cry from the claim that the school was remotely
accessing a live feed of the webcam at the time.

Given how this story has blown up in the past 4 hours, I don't expect anyone
will actually wait until the facts are in before making a judgment, but it
needs to be said that no one really knows what happened at this point.
