I don't know. usually I end up giving stuff away; if it's more than
3 years old, that might be the best thing to do. But, when I do
end up selling, ebay usually nets me the best price, but it involves
shipping, which is a pain if you don't have one of those packing-foam
guns. By the time I hit craigslist, I am pretty much ready
to give it away. (which can be harder than you think; I've got a
bunch of used 1G fibre channel disk and equipment that I haven't
been able to get anyone to cart off for free. If you are near
Sunnyvale, I've also got some crappy chassis and some netburst
lga775 p4 motherboards I'd give to anyone willing to haul 'em off.
I'm seriously considering dragging them down to the local 'e-waste'
center. I've gotta clear out the garage before this weekend.
Actually, I think I'm going to email the local linux users group;
people cheaper than I am.)

you are going for a completely different market when you sell used.
My food budget competes directly with my hardware budget, so I'll
fight you for every penny, but even I don't use used hardware in
production.

(personally, I've learned my lesson. Never again will I use a proprietary
SAN without firmware updates and support. It was a hard lesson
to learn, and one I will not soon forget or repeat.)

If your product is not EOL, and you can transfer an active support
contract, things may be different. But being too poor to afford
things like SANs with support contracts, I wouldn't know.
