Everybody starts somewhere and everyone is new at least once. Don't be afraid to respond and speak up. If someone disagrees with you they'll say so. If they don't do it politely and respectfully, all us old people will take our canes and beat them over the head. There aren't always absolutes, even with computers, and sometimes there are multiple ways of doing things and multiple ideas. Nobody should be brushing off another sysadmin because they're "too green" (or, for that matter, "too old"). (Related: I've been using OpenAFS since previous incarnations -- about 20 yrs. Yet when I post to the OpenAFS mailing lists I *still* get people responding with different thoughts & ideas [& sometimes corrections]. Age & experience doesn't always mean Know It All.)
