Titles are, in my opinion, mostly meaningless. I am a Systems Administrator by every sense of the classic definition-- I manage a few hundred servers, doing the classic things: installs, upgrades, software installation, network config, security administration, etc etc etc.
My job title? “I.S. Project Manager III”. It was, at the time, the only available job description our HR had to use at the time I was hired. Yet, I do *NOTHING * related to a typical “project manager”. Go figure.
