Have you ever tried it, Sam I am? ;-) It's not like that at all. It's more like the barcode reader at the checkout line at the grocery store. You just wave your camera near the QR code, and it automatically recognizes it and snaps its own image. The QR code has all sorts of error correction and redundancy built into it, so it doesn't even need to be focused. I often see QR codes with logos printed over them, obscuring the bits, and they still scan in, error free. Launch google goggles. Wave it at the code. It recognizes the contact, puts it all into your contact list for you. You just hit "save" to acknowledge you like what it did. > If I'm giving you my contact info, odds are I'd like you to contact me in the > future-- inserting ANY unnecessary friction into that is antithetical to my > stated goal, which is why I get slightly ranty on this topic! Exactly why it's nice to eliminate the need for anyone to error-correct or manually enter anything. As they presently do with old fashioned business cards, where they either have to type in the person's information into the computer, or they use error-prone OCR software. The QR code is much better. _______________________________________________ Discuss mailing list Discuss@lists.lopsa.org https://lists.lopsa.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/discuss This list provided by the League of Professional System Administrators http://lopsa.org/
