It is disturbing how many job applicants talk in terms of Class B or
Class C and don't understand CIDR. It screams "book learning, no real
world experience".

Please, *please* make sure that you warn people "You're learning
classful routing for historical reasons; it's not just dead in practice,
it's so dead that if you mention these terms in a job interview without
having explicitly been asked for the historical names, it will probably
count against you".

A few other points you mention are in the same boat, but none so much as
this one. It's a *really* strong indicator for
little-understanding-but-read-the-terms.
