I think you (and some others) are missing the point. I'm not complaining about ads, I'm complaining about Google and the bloat it's gained over time. I do NOT want it to be helpful, and guess what I'm searching for while I type. I am sad that "Instant" keeps getting turned back on, and in fact, there is now no way to turn it off. I've just switched to a new version of Thunderbird (my other computer that I'd sent the other message from is at death's door), and regretting tremendously that I haven't already moved all my accounts the Sylpheed (and Claws, on Ubuntu). For those of you using a *real* email client, I apologize for what is going to be one long line. I don't think of myself as a Luddite, but I surely do wish that changes made to things I use were made to be beneficial, and not just because someone thought they'd be clever and cool. Even though Google thinks otherwise, I don't think I should have to sign in just to turn off crap I don't want. They're lucky bing sucks so much more, or I'd be promoting it like crazy. That also is helpful, and allows me to type what it is that I want, without all the "help" that I seem doomed to be inundated with. P.S. I'm just happy I found the setting to turn off html in email. I'm sad that there's no more wrap the line at X characters, but once I move back to Unix for mail clients, life will improve. _______________________________________________ Discuss mailing list Discuss@lists.lopsa.org https://lists.lopsa.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/discuss This list provided by the League of Professional System Administrators http://lopsa.org/
