I think it just checks the filename to make sure that it ends in "_r4".
If you're making your own images, and using your own filenames, you should
probably use --dont-check-rev
Here's the --help:
Usage: usrp_n2xx_net_burner.py [options]
Options:
-h, --help show this help message and exit
--addr=ADDR USRP-N2XX device address
--fw=FW firmware image path (optional)
--fpga=FPGA fpga image path (optional)
--reset reset the device after writing
--read read to file instead of write from file
--overwrite-safe never ever use this option
--dont-check-rev disable revision checks
--list list possible network devices
