You can disable a test using a regex expression and the -E flag to ctest. So instead of running 'make test', run it as: $ ctest -E qtgui That will prevent that particular test from being run (or any test that regex matches to qtgui, which is only that one test). If you are building on a headless box, you can also simply not build gr-qtgui. Just pass '-DENABLE_GR_QTGUI=False' to cmake.
