That's good news.  If you could remember to Cc: me when you have 
something that needs testing, I'd be grateful.  I suppose the thing 
that has stopped me from looking at this myself is the thought, "if 
it's easy, someone would have done it by now".

Yes, that's not unusual; I think the VIA driver is similar.  It adds 
another step to the learning curve...
