I think you mean GPGGA, but yes.  I just checked with gpsmon and it is indeed
first in the cycle

It probably doesn't.  I copied this config frome somewhere.

RMC supplies date information, which GGA does not. As farvas I know the
drive doesn't use it.

It would cut latency a bit.
