This should force lte (calls will most likely be disabled, change 'lte' to 
'any' to switch back):

dbus-send --system --print-reply --dest=org.ofono /ril_0 org
.ofono.RadioSettings.SetProperty string:"TechnologyPreference" variant:string:"
lte"

(or at least this used to work in 2014)
