Please update the user guide!
I suspect there is lots of other hidden functionality that many of us
have yet to uncover because we have not discovered / tried the magic
move to find it.
And the more of these things are covered in the guide, the higher the
chance that we will try the same moves elsewhere to see what happens
there too.

A definite +1 for that. I looked at an iPhone recently and to be able
to zoom in and rock a finger to move between letters was something I
thought would be good here but this is just as good. Well done Jolla.
I think technically it's not "tap and pan" but "drag the cursor"
The initial tap certainly ensures the cursor and your finger are in the same
place so it's a nice trick :)
I'll get the user guide updated to include it too.
