You're confusing what he said here. That feature is great for joining an existing domain. Simo was saying that firstboot gets in the way if he is actually setting up the domain controller (which would have no local users besides root). That said, the current firstboot allows you to just walk through and skip user creation, last I checked. So I'm not sure why you need to cancel it.
