I have orphaned the following packages I have been maintaining for
DOSBox Staging in Fedora:
dosbox-staging (Provides: dosbox)
iir1
mt32emu
Already for long time, I have had very little time for retro gaming, and
now upstream has been (again) moving Git tags around and what I
incorrectly packaged as version 0.82.2 should be moved to what upstream
actually means to be 0.82.2 [1,2]. Fixing this probably only requires
updating sources in the lookaside cache and rebuilding, but indicates
upstream practices that are difficult for distro packagers to work with.
Also, a build system rewrite is looming in the near future [3] and new
upstream maintainers' view distro packaging negatively (see for example
[4], note that this is an extreme comment and there also more moderate,
but still negative, voices in comments below). So all in all, putting
effort into this emulator does not make sense for me, personally,
anymore. If you need in and have the time available, its yours to take!
