As I read the roadmap (and I am not going to claim I read it correctly, or that it has not changed since I did), technically, X11 support is being deprecated for the gnome 49 release, and not completely removed until the gnome 50 release (it was not clear to me what removed means in this context). I suppose, should someone choose to do so, a packager could create an entire gnome-x11 package set which conflicts with gnome (to avoid installing different parts of different packages) just for the F43 release cycle, and after that, should they wish to do so, fork gnome and continue independent X11 support for gnome-x11 or F44 and beyond (for which gnome 50 will probably be in the distro). If that approach appeals to some people they probably need to start assembling their team and getting the work started rather than suggesting someone else should do so, -- _______________________________________________ devel mailing list -- devel@lists.fedoraproject.org To unsubscribe send an email to devel-le...@lists.fedoraproject.org Fedora Code of Conduct: https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/project/code-of-conduct/ List Guidelines: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Mailing_list_guidelines List Archives: https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/devel@lists.fedoraproject.org Do not reply to spam, report it: https://pagure.io/fedora-infrastructure/new_issue
