That’s probably the wrong question, since it never actually went away.
It’s worth noting that, AFAICT, Aspell is still the best-performing
spell-checker we have for the English language, both for suggestion quality and
CPU time. See http://aspell.net/test/cur/ and
https://pyenchant.github.io/pyenchant/shootout.html. Install enchant2-aspell
and aspell-en, give it a go with your favourite Enchant-using apps, and see
what you think.
