My first Linux PDA was a Sharp SL-5500. That says calm,
professional, maybe descended from a line of calculators, a
practical tool. In America and Japan it was a "Zaurus". To me that
has an undertone of "silly sounding, cartoon character like
sobriquet". Compare Casio Z-7000 vs Casio Zoomer.

SL-5500 was "collie" as Sharp used dog names for devices in Linux powered Zaurus line:

collie, poodle, tosa, corgi, shepherd, husky, boxer, spitz, akira, borzoi, terrier

I worked on OpenZaurus distribution in 2004 - 2007 (as developer and then release manager) and still can mention those names with model names and tech specs...
