I'd prefer to see NetworkManager still in Core and be the default network
management system. Matthew noted some systemd-networkd shortcomings (one of
which is the support for old ifcfg scripts) and the new "run once and quit"
mode keeps resource usage under control.

Although I've used both many times, I find it easier to do complex networking
in NetworkManager and it's a bit easier to control and monitor with Ansible.
