Note that givenName is optional according to the schema. I dropped mine (and some other ids don't have them) and I have not noticed any issues. As to sn, it needs to be present, but does it *really* get used? Unless there *is* a use-case for the fields, we should not waste any more time on trying to ensure that they are accurate.
