I use tmux in two cases: 1. At work, because I have to work on Windows, and it does not provide any reasonable window management, so I spend most of my time in tmux in cygwin. 2. When ssh-ing in my home box, to get multiple panes and a session that does not depend on the ssh connection lifetime. Cheers, Maxime.
