ISO 8601 is the last standard we'll ever need for textual formats for
dates and times. They thought of *every* big-endian format you could
ever possibly want to use, and then they kept right on thinking!

My favorite human-readable ISO-8601-derived format is
YYYY-MM-DDThh:mm:ss.fffff-tz:tz:tz.fffff (I don't think they actually
allowed seconds or fractional seconds in timezones, but some old
European timezone needs them (possibly in Finland?)).
