Thank you for the hint about WC on a share. In this case I think it's
safe because it's a private share that no one is using except myself,
and I'm avoiding concurrent access.
I'm already using the command line client in scripts but not for
complicated tasks like this one. That's why I'm using TortoiseSVN. :-)
I still don't know how to reproduce the problem with the command line
client but I'm sure that it's not "SVN revert" because I don't want to
revert local changes but to set a file of the WC to a previous version
from the repository. But I already have a workaround as I wrote before.
btw: The problem I reported is not related to SUBST or shares. It
happens if a WC is located on a drive's root, e.g. G:\, even if it's a
physical, local drive.
