I had this before but didn't report it due to deadlines. Back then switching to
neon solved the problem.
But now that serf is destined to be the only DAV lib in 1.8 I think it's worth
checking this out further.

That's an http:// working copy. Does googlecode allow commits over
http? Does the commit work if you relocate to https?

Yes of course. Used the wrong working copy here. I assumed it was the
same problem I had before where it worked with neon, but this time even
neon wouldn't work (haven't tried that before since I didn't wanted to
mess with the situation).
