A minor correction: ra_svn was dropped in as a fait d'accompli. FSFS was, as far as I remember, a pretty open process where I created a design and Josh Pieper implemented it. You can look at the commit history of libsvn_fs_fs to see that, and I'm pretty sure that Josh and I were working over the expected open channels (dev list and IRC) at the time.
