0.6.1 and 0.7.0 are effectively compatible. I think an unused function was removed, and the unused SERF_DECLARE stuff was removed. These latest releases are fully incompatible with 0.3.x and earlier releases, according to the "pre 1.0" caveat of the versioning guidelines[1].
