Hi all, This is a friendly reminder that branch-4.2 will be created on May 1st, 2026, as the code freeze and release branch cut for Apache Spark 4.2.0.
After the branch is cut, Spark 4.2.0 will enter the QA period, where the focus should be on bug fixes, tests, stability, documentation, and release blockers. In general, new features should not be merged into branch-4.2 during this period. If you have feature patches that you believe should be included in Spark 4.2.0, please try to get them merged before the branch cut, or bring them up as soon as possible. Thanks, Huaxin
