Hi Raja,

Which OS are you using? I suspect that the OS you are using is Windows.
I see that one of the tests fails with the message:
org.junit.ComparisonFailure:
expected:<[/tmp/testing/state/testStore/]Partition_1> but
was:<[\tmp\testing\state\testStore\]Partition_1>
The only difference is in the directory separator characters. On Linux &
Mac, the separator is "/" on Windows "\".

Also ensure that you has no white spaces in the path where you downloaded
the source code.
>From the exception: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Illegal character
in authority at index 7: file://samza1 - Copy\samza-core/src/test/resources/
test.properties
it is clear that you have white space in the path which is an illegal
character if you try to parse it to URI.

You can eliminate the white spaces from the path and you can replace the
separators in failing tests with File.separator and try to build samza
again.
If it fails, try to install a UNIX like system, e.g. Ubuntu (it can be
easily installed in any virtual machine) and try to build samza there.
The build steps are as simple as Yan Fang wrote.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,
Jozsef
