Have we run this change through the upgrade/downgrade acceptance tests yet? It would be good to know: 1. If it works with downgrade (only affects network related protos) 2. If we are supporting downgrade from the 2.x to 1.x line. There is a lot of room for improvement on the current release notes/changelog but one thing I cannot find that should be called out right at the top is what this major version increase means for client/server and upgrade/downgrade compatibility.
