The main topic in this discussion is about "renaming something that is not quite right but that has been the same for many years".

This is always a complex discussion, and in the end I think the only solution is whether something is so important to justify a terminology change.

Other examples would include:

- Format -> Character in Writer to change the language of a piece of text; this is obviously confusing as one would expect to find size and color there, not the language.

- File -> Page format in Word (not in Writer) to decide whether a document was to be formatted on a vertical or horizontal A4; we even had to "justify" to Word users the fact that this had been placed in a more sane location in Writer.

Yet, the former is still there and the latter is not there yet just because Word got rid of the "File" menu altogether with recent interfaces.

And this is just fine. If there isn't a very compelling reason for change, we have to live with this, as all documentation, forum posts and so on use the current wording.

Regards,
  Andrea.
