You're right about that, Peter.

btw:
I've been treated like this for months, but no one seems to notice ...

But now to your mail regarding the program:
-------------------------------------------
Of course you are formally right, but consider the following (and consider past
experience with GUI renames):
Most users are used to certain terms, why should we confuse them just because
another term is more formally correct?
(Look at the GUI of LibreOffice, an absolute catastrophe, because for years
things have been changed again and again without any reason and users are
forced to familiarize themselves again and again.)

Are you even aware of how many GUI terms users complain about in practice and
how many different reasons they have for doing so?
I have already had discussions for days with users who accused us of racism
because we use the term "Hurenkinder" (in German AOO).

I think it's impossible to meet the opinions of all users and so it makes sense
to behave in a way that we only change the terminology of the GUI if it offers
a real advantage.

That's my opinion, the opinion of someone who has been answering support
requests about OO on a regular basis 10-20 hours a week for about 15 years.
(Sorry, I'm not saying this to praise myself, but just to make it clear I know
what I'm talking about, because I've answered tens of thousands of user
requests.)

greetings,
Jörg
