"More common plural"? That is incorrect for the following reasons:

1. Criteria is slang
2. Criteria does not indicate singular or plural

Further, I have two degrees, and I am a very good writer. What would you call
a "classical education"?

a. College degree?
b: High school diploma?
c. High school dropout?

It is obvious you would prefer slang rather than common English; further, it is
obvious you are not going to
change your programming even though it uses slang.
