My main concern is that Saturday is very close. It is true that we have been talking about designs for weeks. But we never announced a deadline. So I would consider to give maximum visibility to the announcement for a while (like temporarily changing the main site announcement to "Submit your proposals for a new OpenOffice logo! Deadline: 23/2", link to https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/OOOUSERS/Apache+OpenOffice+4.0+Brand+Refresh+Project ; and add a link to the dev or marketing list to the wiki page) and then extending the deadline until, say, 28 February, ONLY if we receive requests in that direction by Saturday.
