Hi, It's worth noting that the ASF already has a policy on the use of AI-generated code: https://www.apache.org/legal/generative-tooling.html, which may be a useful starting point for shaping any project-level policy.
On the question of AI-generated "slop" making it through review: one potentially interesting approach is using AI to help detect AI-generated contributions. There's a new ASF project doing exactly that, which I am involved in, called Magpie (https://magpie.apache.org/), which may be worth a look. Kind regards, Justin
